Lead Shingles
Lead shingles are available in a variety of sizes and shapes. They can be nailed, with no risk of cracking, directly to the substrate.
Lead shingles for roofing are made from a rolled lead sheet product. This product can be custom made to your specifications. Lead shingles should be made to ASTM B-749-97 Spec: or Chemical Copper Lead (UNS #L51121). This grade is intended for applications, such as roofing, require good corrosion resistance with formability.
Lead Panels For Roofing
Lead sheet for sloped roofing should be equal to or less than 12 sq. feet per panel.
It should be a minimum 4-pounds per sq. ft.
Lead sheeting for flat roofs should weigh a minimum of 6 or 8-lbs. per sq. ft.
Flashing should be at least 4# , and must be fastened in strips no longer than 4.5 ft. by 15 in.
The minimum overlap specified is 4 in., unless it is in a high wind and precipitation region, then an overlap of 6 in would be appropriate.
Strip Lead
Santa Rosa Lead Products strip lead is excellent for building, water proofing, and flashing applications.
The standard roll weighs just 50 lb.
Standard thickness's are 2.5#., 3#., and 4#.
Lead Strip standard widths are 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, & 18 inches.
